The Owner
He slipped, unintentionally, and
dropped the tray on the elegant but arrogant looking gentleman, unaware that he
was the owner of the prestigious hotel. He was not even allowed to apologize and
was kicked out.
He wiped his eyes and decided that
one day he would own this place.
Twenty years later he stepped in
that hotel and was utterly disappointed. There was nothing that even remotely reflected
its glory of early days. But he was not
going back.
“Where can I meet the owner of this…..place?”
The haggard looking man stopped wiping
the counter and said, “I am the owner.”

ReplyDeletethanks for the comments
DeleteThis just might be a good lesson for him. The owner probably had nothing to do with his firing and owners are also responsible for everything...
ReplyDeleteeverything happened in his presence and perhaps with his tacit consent. thanks for reading the story
DeleteAnd had he not dropped that tray? Well done.
ReplyDeleteDear Arora,
ReplyDeletePerhaps if the owner had been a more forgiving man his business might've flourished. Nicely done.
Shalom,
Rochelle
thanks
DeleteGood story. Both fellows should have planted good seeds along the way.
ReplyDeleteI think karma was taking a 20-year toll on the owner. Maybe the person revisiting place will see it and find a bit of compassion for the changing circumstances. I'd be curious to see what happens next. Good cliffhanger.
