Quest

As they entered the
tunnel they were confident that their quest was over; El Dorado was on the
other side of the tunnel.
They could see light at
the end of the tunnel but, somehow, they were unable to reach the other end.
In their excitement they
had failed to see that the floor of the tunnel had been, all the time, moving
backwards; they were on a treadmill.
Their hearts sank; they
would perish and not reach the other end. Disheartened they turned back.
To their horror a
glorious gilded man confronted them at the entrance of the cave.

Dear Arora,
ReplyDeleteA treadmill? That would be disheartening.
Shalom,
Rochelle

DeleteThat's a tense situation, I wonder how they get out. Great adventure.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ga H, as the story goes everyone who tried to reach El Dorado perished.
DeleteOh I have heard about the gilded man.. A giant eating men I think.
ReplyDeletethanks Bjorn
DeleteIt's hard to get off a treadmill while it's moving and stuck in a tunnel, too. That sounds impossible. Intriguing take!
ReplyDeletethanks amy reese
DeleteWhat a horrible situation!
ReplyDeletethanks Joy
ReplyDeleteI hate treadmills. The doctor put me on one for a heart test. I lasted about 3 minutes. The glorious gilded man was probably a doctor in disguise.
ReplyDeleteThanks Russell
DeleteThat's too scary... sadly it's all real :-(
