Irritation
He knew that he was no longer a kid; he was almost as big and
strong as his mother.
But the mother would only treat him like a kid and chided him
as if he was always in the harm’s way.
“How many times have I told you that such manoeuvres are not
for the kids to try?” she said in an unrestrained irritation as he landed near her,
brimming with pride, after a soul stirring flight.
He thought of his friends who had already flown to the
distant island.
He looked at his mother with bleary eyes; he was dreaming of audacious
flights he would try in the company of his reckless friends.

DeleteSome mothers find it very hard to encourage their childen to learn to fly on their own and to explore new worlds. How sad that it for the children who are held back in fear and over-protection!
